Caye Caulker's Original Animal Sanctuary

About P.A.W.

P.A.W. Cat Sanctuary & Humane Society is a non-profit, no kill organization which has been in operation since 2003. We are located on the island of Caye Caulker (pronounced Key Korker) in the country of Belize.

We provide food, shelter, sterilization procedures and medical care to homeless cats. Our sanctuary haven supplies all the basic needs, coupled with lots of love and personal attention to each of our residents.

P.A.W. has 501(c)(3) charity status in the US, so is not funded by government or other organizations. We rely entirely on rental income from our accommodation, kind donations and volunteer assistance. Take a tour through our website and meet some of the animals. We’d love to see you sometime!

P.A.W. Animal Sanctuary cares for all animals in need. We primarily care for cats but our doors are open to all animals requiring care and assistance. Our mission is as follows:

1. To advocate in the interest and welfare of animals for government policies and laws that will promote humane animal treatment, responsible animal care and ownership and investigate and enforce laws pertaining to animal cruelty thereby creating meaningful changes in communities

2. To educate the public regarding policies and laws and to help foster strong human-animal bonds that will result in less animal suffering, and a community where the relationship with animals is guided by compassion and respect for the intrinsic value of all animals

3. To protect all animals from neglect, abuse, and exploitation

4. To reduce the homeless stray animal population by:
